The all-New 2026 Honda CB1000F
RIDING INTO THE FUTURE
By Dave Nagel
INTRODUCTION:
There’s a moment when heritage meets innovation—and for Honda riders who’ve longed for a modern CB that feels like the old school but performs like today’s tech-rich machines, that moment is now. Introducing the 2026 Honda CB1000F, where retro styling and four-cylinder thunder collide with commuter-friendly composure and weekend thrash ability.
CLASSIC DNA, MODERN PERFORMANCE:
The styling alone is a statement: welded tank lines, minimalist side graphics, single slash exhausts, and round LED lighting that hark back to the golden era of CB brothers. Yet hidden beneath is a 1000 cc liquid-cooled inline-four (DOHC, 16-valve) delivering 122 hp at 9,000 rpm and 103 Nm at 8,000 rpm.
Chassis highlights include a steel diamond frame paired with Showa’s 41 mm SFF-BP USD fork up front and a Pro-Link rear shock. Braking is handled via twin 310 mm discs and Nissin radial calipers, backed by a 6-axis IMU and cornering ABS system. Ride-by-wire throttle and selectable modes (Standard, Rain, Sport, plus two user-configurable) keep the rider in control.
Add in a 5-inch TFT dash, smart-key access, LED lighting, and Honda Road-Sync connectivity—and you’ve got retro looks with modern sensibilities.
EVERYDAY USABILITY:
Seat height stands at a welcoming 795 mm (~31.3 in). A 214 kg (~472 lb) curb weight and broad steering bars make city weaving and day-to-day traffic less taxing than many liter-class bikes. With a fuel capacity of 16 L (4.2 gal) and combined consumption around 5.6 L/100 km (~42 mpg), this bike isn’t just for Sundays—it works Monday through Friday too.
Insurance and heat can be considerations, yes—but if you’re looking for one bike that’s commute-capable, weekend-ready, and unmistakably Honda, this slots in perfectly.
AVAILABILITY & ESTIMATED PRICING:
According to Honda’s announcements, European and Japanese markets will see deliveries in early 2026 (Japan Nov–Jan, Europe spring). US model-year 2026 is confirmed; a realistic delivery window would be late 2025 into 2026. With UK pricing at £10,599 and Japan at 1,397,000 yen, the US MSRP is estimated at $11,000–$12,000 before fees (official US pricing yet to be confirmed).
THE FINAL WORD:
If retrospection and performance collided in the center of your rider brain—this is your moment. The 2026 Honda CB1000F marries vintage attitude with modern agility, making it a serious contender for daily rider status and weekend warrior credentials. For one-bike lovers, style-seekers, and tech-savvy riders alike, this bike deserves serious consideration.
